Haughton Bell Ringing Jan-February 2021
We have been maintaining our weekly practice via Zoom and www.ringingroom.com. During our practices we have been concentrating and learning to ring Grandsire Doubles. It certainly a good help to break the evening 'lockdown' routine, and an excellent way to meet friends safely, and to carry on learning and practicing our hobby.
Yesterday we learnt the sad news of he death of Sir Captain Tom Moore aged 100, who raised over £30 million for the NHS during the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This evening we rang 100 changes on www.ringingroom.com to celebrate his life and achievements.
The ringers were:
1. Dick Bowler
2. Trevor Stacey
3. Karen Powell
4. Mervyn Lock
5 Trevor Lock (C)
6 Jocelyne Lock
We rang 3 plain course of Grandsire Double (30 Changes each) and 1 plain course of Plain Hunt Doubles (10 Changes) giving us 100 changes in total.
RIP Sir Tom.
