Haughton W.I. were very sad to learn that their longest serving member, Molly Jarvis, had died on Wednesday March 17th 2021. She was 107 years old.
Molly had been a member of Haughton W.I. since she came to live in Haughton nearly 70 years ago. During that time she served as Secretary and Vice President and she was President from 1977-1979. She was a very active member and was involved with Produce and Craft Competitions for the County Show and the Drama Group. Molly left the village in 2008 to be near her daughter in Leamington Spa but she continued to be a member of Haughton W.I. and took a keen interest right up to her death. Molly’s husband Jim was Chairman of Haughton Parish Council and The Jim Jarvis Playing Field in Haughton bears his name.
The Bell Ringers rang a plain course of Plain Bob Doubles during their zoom meeting this evening, in memory of Molly. Visit https://bb.ringingworld.co.uk/view.php?id=1427011 to see details of the performance
