60 Years and counting

I was lucky enough to ring in a Peal to celebrate E Ann Williams' 60th ringing year.  Morton Corbet was the chosen tower as she had been tower captain there while her husband had been vicar.

Ann was persuaded to take up the hobby by her father, who coaxed her along to a practice as they were short of ringers.  She describes herself as being very reluctant to take up the art, but as soon as she grabbed hold of a rope, she was hooked.  60 years later and having rung over 500 peals she is just as keen today as she was then.

It just shows you that you need to have ago at everything in life, you just don't want you'll enjoy.  Please free to call in and see us on a Tuesday evening to have ago, it might just change your life!

We rang 7 methods in the peal, 7 full extents of Cambridge, Kent TB, Oxford TB, St Clements, College Bob, Single Court, and Plain Bob.  It was completed int 2 hrs 40 minutes
