Col. Dennis Wheatcroft's Funeral

We were asked ring for Dennis Wheatcroft's funeral who sadly passed away aged 92.  We rang half muffled as we were waiting for his coffin and the tolled the tenor 92 times as the coffin came through the churchyard to the church.

It was a lovely service taken by Revd. Geoffrey Smith as he had know Dennis for many years.  The service doubled as memorial service for Doreen Wheatcroft (Dennis's wife) who sadly passed away during the pandemic and her funeral could only be conducted outside with limited numbers.  Laurie Worthing paid tribute to Doreen and Pete Rowley and James Wheatcroft paid tributes to Dennis.

The bells were rung again as the coffin left the church, and they were the stood in diminishing rounds.
